Update: Woodland Outdoor Ceremonies

It's full steam ahead for the new outdoor woodland ceremony space, The Hideaway! Having received planning permission, met with the Registrar and agreed a design with local supplier, Keals of Market Harborough, we're on track for The Hideaway to be ready for weddings by Easter 2018.

Keals - whose speciality is to make wonderful structures, furniture and other paraphernalia from reclaimed and recycled goods - is now busy building parts of the structure offsite while we prepare the ground within the woods.

Having hosted outdoor blessings (non-licensed ceremonies) since The Woodlands opened in 2015, we are now turning the direction of the ceremony area around by 90 degrees so the river runs alongside and the Hideaway has a perfect fit.

Made from wood, with a reclaimed tin roof covered in growing greenery, the Hideaway will be large enough to provide shelter for the marrying couple, the Registrars and the witnesses, while guests will be seated on rows of benches.

We hope to be able to share an artist's impression of The Hideaway here soon but before we know it, we'll be sharing photos of the real thing! Watch this space.
