Update: Woodland Outdoor Ceremonies

April 2018 saw us host the first legal marriage outside at The Woodlands under the shelter of The Hideaway, our new licensed structure for weddings.

Having hosted outdoor blessings (non-licensed ceremonies) since The Woodlands opened in 2015 and watched their popularity grow, we invested in the building of a shelter to comply with Registrar guidelines and enable legal ceremonies to take place outside, under the trees.

Made from wood, with a reclaimed tin roof, The Hideaway is large enough to provide shelter for the marrying couple, the Registrars and the witnesses, while guests are seated on rows of benches.

The shallow river runs alongside The Hideaway and the treehouse sits behind guests beyond the trees, so the bride and/or groom can make their entrance in style.

Couples are given a blank canvas with The Hideaway to decorate as they chose, although it's still as rustically beautiful when left bare. The Hideaway has an electric supply (for music or microphones) and lighting, as well as a stunning antler chandelier hanging from the centre of the pitched roof.

If you plan to marry in the winter, you may wish to marry inside in The Woodlands' venue which has a licensed ceremony room, but you don't have to miss out on The Hideaway. It makes for a great spot in which to have your 'couple photos', especially as the sun sets and darkness sets in!

If you'd like to come and view The Hideaway and The Woodlands venue, please get in contact with our wedding team.
