Lucy & Andy's Intimate Woodland Wedding

The Woodlands - August 2017

Lucy and Andy met at work and, knowing they were each other’s ‘forever after’, they set up home soon after. Two lovely daughters followed and after sixteen years together, Andy got down on one knee on Christmas day.

Searching for the perfect venue

Lucy and Andy knew they wanted a venue that offered a relaxed and tranquil environment. “As soon as we saw the woodland blessing area we knew it was for us,” said Lucy.

The big day

“We kept it simple and in keeping with The Woodlands setting,” reflected Lucy, who enjoyed a more intimate wedding ceremony. “I wore a floaty lace dress and both our daughters were flower girls and wore ivory tutu dresses, while Andy wore a modern grey tweed suit.”

Lucy continued, “Our lasting memory is after the ceremony, enjoying a drink in the wooded area while listening to a mixture of Soraya playing the harp and the birds singing, while the sun shone through the trees.”

Further guests joining them for the evening as the party continued until late. “The staff were all amazing and made the day run perfectly,” said Lucy.

Lucy’s advice to other couples:

“Let the staff do their job and take advice, but don’t lose track of why you’re getting married. Above all else, enjoy every second!”

“I would 100% recommend The Woodlands – the grounds and setting are truly beautiful. We had the best day and it was worth waiting 16 years!” ended Lucy.
