Liz & Rob

July 2018

After meeting online in 2011, Liz initially thought the long distance between them would be a problem, but Rob was determined and six years later he was down on one knee in London! Rob had designed the ring himself and Liz says, “His proposal was a complete surprise!”

Searching for the perfect venue

The couple came across The Woodlands online and were “blown away” by the venue from their initial visit. They loved the relaxed and natural feeling to it and knew that it was the place for them.

The big day

Being music lovers, Liz and Rob wanted to incorporate this into their big day. The invitations were made from vinyl records, the table centerpieces were made from old cassette tapes and even the wedding cake was designed as a stack of drums (decorated with real drumsticks)! Custom made, personalised guitar picks were used as table confetti and an old record player was filled with flowers, shades of green & cream, and ears of corn for an extra natural touch.

The mother of the bride had her own special input and made paper heart decorations out of sheet music to ‘You’re my best friend’ by Queen – the song Liz walked down the isle to.

Liz wore a pearl coloured, satin overlayed dress paired with sparkly, iridescent floral shoes – complementing the fun & quirky theme of the whole day! Rob wore a grey & blue checked waistcoat and blue trousers.

The couple chose the ‘build your own burger’ menu option for their guests, complementing the laid-back feel and surroundings.

Lasting memories

Six guests joined Liz and Rob for the ceremony, and an additional sixty guests joined in the evening. Liz says she will always remember everyone being together and “rocking out to inflatable guitars!”

Liz and Rob say, “The day went really well and the team were great! We have had amazing feedback from all our guests who say it’s the best wedding they have ever been to! Everything was brilliant, thank you for making our day so memorable, we’re sure everyone will be talking about it for a long time yet!”
