Vicki and Dom met at a friend’s wedding and dated for five years before Dom proposed in 2015 as they prepared to jet off to Egypt to celebrate his 40th birthday.
Once home from their double celebration in Egypt, they began their online search for a wedding venue with the aim of finding something, “unusual and different,” recalled Vicki. “We found The Woodlands and instantly fell in love with it. Valentine’s Day 2016 was available and when we visited we knew the venue was perfect.”
Vicki and Dom’s wedding followed the Valentine’s theme and featured décor including hearts and slate. “We kept it very simple and didn’t need to dress the venue as it was stunning already,” said Vicki. “We got married in the venue and loved every minute. The food was excellent and faultless.” The happy couple shared their big day with 50 guests with 35 making a weekend of it and staying in the woodland village accommodation for two nights.
“Steph, our wedding co-ordinator at The Woodlands, was a great help and amazing,” said Vicki who was grateful for the support as she lived two and a half hours away from the venue.
Vicki and Dom’s memories included: “No hassle, no stress, gorgeous day and lots of our guests said it was the best wedding they had ever been to!”
“It’s a perfect setting – something very different. All the staff were so attentive. I want to do it all again!”
“We booked the DJ to play from midday, making it fun from the start, even though we were married later at 2.30.We also had pictures before we were married – it took our nerves away and was more relaxed which is what we wanted as we didn't want a formal wedding.”
