Seven years ago, Adam and Karen were in a chance photo together. It took them six months before they realised they were both in the photo, and became an item shortly after. Adam proposed to Karen in the Lake District on a weekend away to celebrate Karen’s birthday.
After viewing many other venues, the couple immediately fell in love with Hothorpe: “The staff were friendly, we knew it would work for us on the big day.” Adam told us that, “the greatest attribute of Hothorpe is the scenic setting that made us feel relaxed in a gorgeous part of the county.”
The happy couple were married in the 10th century church of St. Bartholomew’s in Foston and held the reception at Hothorpe Hall. Adam and Karen wanted a more intimate wedding so restricted the number of guests during the day to just close friends and family. The wedding followed a bird theme with a colour scheme of pastels; peach, hints of cream, lilac, pink, and the happy couple created a truly romantic atmosphere. Karen wore a Mori Lee gown with a sweetheart neckline and lace fishtail, and the bridesmaids and flower girls wore a pastel shade of peach.
“The team were outstanding! They ensured the day ran perfectly and remained both patient and professional whilst being friendly and supportive. Unfortunately, Karen felt unwell on the day but the staff took extra special care of her,” said Adam.
“As expected, the setting was fantastic but the décor in the wedding breakfast room took our breath away. The room was beyond our expectations and the flowers were beautiful.”
“We would strongly recommend Hothorpe as the venue is amazing and the staff are exceptional. We had a fantastic experience and enjoyed working with the staff at Hothorpe Hall. Our day was so very special.”
Adam said, “The value of having a good Toastmaster cannot be underestimated. Don’t make the mistake of getting too caught up in the planning, just enjoy the experience. Finally, enjoy your day and let the professionals do all the work!”
