Getting active at Hothorpe Hall & The Woodlands

10 July 2017

If you’re an active person and like to exercise, staying away from home for a business meeting at Hothorpe Hall needn’t interrupt your usual routine.

Hothorpe Hall & The Woodlands are surrounded by quiet country lanes, footpaths and fields for running or walking and if you don’t want to venture far, there’s plenty to do in our own 12 acres of gardens. While the lawns lend themselves well to yoga and Pilates (with secluded areas for those after some privacy), our versatile games court can be used for tennis, basketball or football. Just ask at Reception who’ll be happy to loan you rackets and balls.

For the keen runners, we have added some tried and tested running routes to the MapMyRun app – just download the app to your smartphone and when you arrive after a few simple steps you’ll see our routes that all start from our grounds. There’s short and longer routes already mapped and you can even log your time and see how you fare against others who have run the routes!

For guests who don’t want to venture offsite but want to undertake a cardio or strength workout, we have plans to add a trim trail in our gardens in the coming months, offering you equipment to exercise in the great outdoors. Watch this space!

Finally, if you just want to enjoy our countryside setting and relax in the downtime during your conference at Hothorpe Hall & The Woodlands, our outside terrace is a great place to wind down with a drink… but our box of garden games is always available to guests if giant Jenga or a game of croquet appeals.
