As one of the leading conference venues in the East Midlands, we have a wealth of experience in ensuring that our clients’ corporate events run smoothly – it’s what we do! Each event is tailored to the specific needs of the client, and flexibility is our middle name. Increasingly popular with many of our clients is to introduce an element of fun to proceedings in the shape of a team building event.
Keeping in mind our pledge to tailor each client’s event to their own specific requirements, the team building element can take a number of forms. Recent clients have relocated their boardroom to the Hothorpe Terrace Room for a couple of days, spending day one strategising (pausing of course to enjoy a delicious lunch!), and then relaxed with a wine tasting session prior to their evening meal; the following morning started with a hearty breakfast before blowing away the cobwebs with a spot of clay pigeon shooting, ending their two days at Hothorpe back in the boardroom.
Another client enjoyed a large day-long conference at Hothorpe Hall, starting their day with a team building exercise to help all of their delegates to relax and get to know each other, taking part in a giant jigsaw building exercise. After lunch, the group were re-energised prior to the afternoon session, by trying their hand at archery in the grounds of Hothorpe Hall.
Hothorpe Hall offers a range of team building activities to suit a wide variety of client groups. In order to offer some further options for more ‘thrill-seeking’ delegates, we have partnered with Avalanche Adventure, an outdoor pursuits specialist situated just a couple of miles from Hothorpe Hall in Sibbertoft. This provides the opportunity to take part in activities such as off-road Land Rover driving and quad biking. Nearby Armourgeddon also offers a unique paintballing and driving experience in old army tanks – a great corporate team building activity. Additionally, clients can choose more sedentary activities such as wine tasting, cocktail making or floral design.
Clients can choose to include a team building event as part of a wider meeting or conference, or they can make the team building the main focus of the event. A recent client chose to reward staff with a an overnight stay at Hothorpe which also included paintballing and cocktail making, as well as private dining on the evening of their stay.
Making teambuilding a part of a corporate event is a great way of enhancing a team dynamic; putting colleagues into an unfamiliar situations is a great ‘leveller’, and a fantastic way of breaking down barriers and improving working relationships. Not only does adding teambuilding activities to a corporate event improve performance, it also has a positive impact on team morale and the self-esteem and self-worth of the members of the team.
Let Hothorpe Hall organise your next corporate event. With a range of stunning meeting rooms to suit your needs, we can incorporate a team building element to your day which will really pay dividends.
