Easter Weekend In Lockdown
Well, it’s a little bit of a different Easter weekend this year, isn’t it!?
Normally we’d have been looking forward to a four day weekend to celebrate with our family and friends, probably meeting for a huge Sunday dinner and a couple of glasses of wine. Don’t worry, there’s no reason we can’t still do that, just in a slightly different way.
Here are our ideas for Easter, lockdown style:
How many people have you been watching baking on Instagram and Facebook? Well, Easter is the perfect time to get in the kitchen! Why not try your own hot cross buns, mini egg cakes or even bunny shaped cookies? Even better, set a time and get on FaceTime to your family who can be attempting the same thing at the same time – who’s will come out best!?
If you’re more savoury than sweet, the same idea can work for you! Get the whole family involved in cooking an Easter roast and then sit down and enjoy it together, whether that’s in the same household or virtually.
If you haven’t already got on the home quiz hype, this is definitely the weekend to do it! Get all your friends together and let the games begin! As it’s a long weekend why not have play four rounds, with different people hosting each night?
Easter egg hunt
A classic easter egg hunt never hurt anyone did it?
If you don’t want to make a special trip to buy chocolate eggs try hiding random objects you have lying around the house and leave little clues as to what your isolation partner has to find next, see how long it takes them to work it out!
Another option is egg hunting while you’re out for your exercise of the day. Many people are drawing and colouring eggs to stick in their windows so children can go around looking for them. If you can’t find the eggs – see how many rainbows you can find.
P.S. It’s definitely acceptable for adults to play along, given the current circumstances!
