  • Passion for hospitality and the catering industry
  • Organised with excellent time management skills
  • Previous experience as FOH supervisor or manager in a similar role
  • Good team leadership and motivational skills, able to lead from the front
  • Train and record the development of the existing food and beverage team
  • Assist with further development of controls, procedures and their implementation
  • Ability and desire to create good relations with the guests
  • Ambition to drive the business forward and maximise revenue opportunities
  • New and existing ideas to be implemented and put into play
  • Excellent food and beverage knowledge with and the ability to convey this
  • Able to deal with and adapt to chasing as business requires
  • Knowledge of known allergens and controls
  • Ensure compliance regarding HACCP and COSHH and Fire Regulations
  • Deputise in manager’s absence
  • Assist outside of department on occasion as deemed appropriate and necessary for business

 

Responsibilities and Daily Duties

  • Running and overseeing of food and beverages to our guests, providing a courteous, professional and efficient service, as appropriate to the style of service or client’s needs
  • Taking responsibility of service and its delivery and liaise with HODs and the kitchen
  • Compiling of costed rotas and organising staff shifts
  • Manage and ensure all functions and events run smoothly on duty and all revenue is captured
  • Oversee and authorise the sale of alcohol
  • Undertake liquor stock checks/stock takes, stock control, rotation and ordering
  • Ensure correct procedures are followed and recorded and staff are trained in these
  • Responsible for cash handling, cashing up, and all transactions when on shift
  • Work closely with the kitchen and event planners to ensure smooth operations
  • Oversee bar and dining room teams to ensure smooth service.
  • Ensure general cleanliness and maintenance of FOH areas are kept at high standard following procedures and schedules
  • Maintain and keep back of house areas and stores in a clean and safe environment
  • Ensure focus is on the service of food and beverage and guest care and satisfaction
  • Ensure key targets are met regarding labour costs, GPs, upselling
  • Ensure food safety and H&S compliance
  • Ensure high standards of service, delivery and provision are upheld and adhered to
  • Act as Duty Manager whilst on duty and communicate to relevant departments as required
  • Attend weekly planning meetings and formulate operational plans from these

 

Desirable qualities

  • Personal Licence Holder
  • Level 3 Food Hygiene qualification
  • First Aid Trained
  • Proven experience of delivering banqueting service
  • Familiar with use of Word, Excel, Outlook and till systems
