Assistant Housekeeping Manager
Responsibilities and Duties
Reporting to the Housekeeping Manager your duties will include, but not limited, to the following:
- To support the housekeeping manager in training, leading and recruiting housekeeping assistants
- To ensure all bedrooms and public areas are clean, orderly and well maintained
- To prepare daily work schedules and assign tasks to the team, ensuring all jobs are complete within the allocated time frame
- To supervise the housekeeping team in their duties, ensuring that they perform to the set high standards of Hothorpe Venues
- Conduct regular checks to ensure all expected standards of cleanliness are achieved and maintained
- Foster team spirit which will direct towards guest satisfaction
- Support the Housekeeping Manager in monitoring stock control and order services as needed such as linen, toiletries and cleaning chemicals
- Keep a weekly and monthly inventory of stock
- Report maintenance issues and follow up to ensure action is taken
- To demonstrate health and safety, have a working knowledge of COSHH, and to report any risk
- Be pro active in your approach to any complaint or concern raised
- Provide inspiration, keep on top of trends and happy to input into the improvement of guest bedrooms and public areas

- Be a motivating leader who supports the team
- Have a keen eye for detail and strive for perfection
- Great communicator
- Confident in all situations
- Use initiative to solve problems. Be a problem solver not a problem maker
- Must have housekeeping experience, with a minimum of 1year experience supervising a team.
- Previous COSHH, health and safety, and fire training is desirable
