Housekeeping Manager - Full-time, £10.60/hour

Hothorpe Hall & The Woodlands is an award winning conference, event and weddings venue with 77 bedrooms and our luxury treehouse. As our Housekeeping Manager, at Hothorpe, you will be core to the success of the operation with a huge impact on guest experience.

Responsibilities and duties include:

  • To train, lead and recruit housekeeping assistants
  • To ensure all bedrooms and public areas are clean, orderly and well maintained
  • To prepare daily work schedules and assign tasks to the team
  • To supervise the housekeeping team in their duties, ensuring that they perform to the set high standards of Hothorpe Hall
  • Conduct regular checks to ensure all expected standards of cleanliness are achieved and maintained
  • Foster team spirit which will direct towards guest satisfaction.
  • Conduct monthly team meetings, and regular 1 to 1's with the team, noting 
  • Monitor stock control and order services as needed such as linen, toiletries and cleaning chemicals, keeping a weekly and monthly inventory of stock
  • To demonstrate health and safety, have a working knowledge of COSHH, and to report any risk, reporting any maintenance issues and follow up to ensure action is taken
  • Be pro active in your approach to any complaint or concern raised
  • Provide inspiration, keep on top of trends and happy to input into the improvement of guest bedrooms and public areas

Bar Supervisor - Part-Time, £8.40/hour

We are looking for a forward-thinking and innovative bar supervisor.

Reporting to the Restaurant and Bars manager, you'll have a degree of autonomy supervising a team of up to 12 members of staff.

Our bars are not open to the public, so only guests already attending an event whether it be a conference, church group weekend break, wedding reception or party will use the bars.

Your approach to bar tending must be adaptable as our guests' requirements vary; you must be just as friendly and welcoming serving a nice cup of tea as you are serving a raucous birthday party.

You will be contracted to a minimum of 100 hours per month, but you must have the flexibility to increase this at peak times such as the summer wedding season and the lead up to Christmas.

Chef de Partie, full-time, 40 hours per week, £18,000 - £21,000 a year

Catering for 90 weddings, 80 functions and 100s of conference groups and corporate away days every year, we are in a strong position and want to expand our existing team. We are not your usual conference venue, we're family owned, with a commitment to doing everything right and investing in our employees. This includes making all our own dishes, allowing our guests to enjoy real food tailored to their needs, not what's at the back of a frozen wagon. Your creativity and contribution to menus is encouraged.

We are looking for a talented and passionate chef who wants to take the next step in their career. You will be required to:

  • Provide guidance to junior kitchen staff members, including but not limited to, line cooking, food preparation, and dish plating
  • Demonstrate a keen eye for detail and a knowledge and sense of what ingredients work well together
  • Work in a fast paced environment maintaining high standards
  • Oversee and organise kitchen stock and ingredients
  • Ensure a first-in, first-out food rotation system and verify all food products are properly dated and organised for quality assurance
  • Keep cooking stations stocked, especially before and during prime operation hours
  • Train new kitchen employees to restaurant and kitchen standards
  • Be responsible for food preparation and presentation to ensure quality and high standards

Relevant qualifications are desirable and experience is a must. Over time is paid or given as days off in lieu. 5.6 weeks' holiday, pension scheme and uniform supplied.

On site accommodation in desirable countryside setting is available, if required.  

Housekeeping Assistants - Up to £8.03 p/hr

We are looking for Housekeeping Assistants to work a variety of shifts according to business needs. Experience in a similar role is preferred, although we are happy to train individuals with a keen eye for detail and a 'can do' attitude. Applicants should be aware that working in Housekeeping is physically demanding. You will need your own transport or a reliable lift to and from work due to our rural location.

We are looking to fill one position with a guaranteed 16 hours a week and further positions with variable hours offered.

Restaurant & Bars Assistants, part-time - Up to £8.03 p/hr

We require reliable restaurant & bars assistants to work mainly evening and weekend shifts. These are casual positions with work offered according to business needs. You will be serving drinks at the bar to wedding, function or conference guests and also working in our busy dining rooms, welcoming guests at meal times, laying tables, serving meals, clearing plates etc. This is a flexible role working across both our Woodlands & Hothorpe Hall venues, serving the dining room and bar.

Over 18s only and experience is ideal, but not necessary as training available. You will need your own transport or a reliable lift to and from work due to our rural location.
